Meet Our Runner
Our featured runner, Georgios, is not only a dedicated PE teacher but also a proud father. Born and raised in Athens, Greece, Georgios has transitioned from being a basketball player to a passionate runner. He has completed over a dozen half marathons and seven marathons, and the Boston Marathon 2024 will mark a special milestone in his running journey. As a parent and an educator, Georgios recognizes the critical life skills that children learn through the arts and sports.
““Even though I’ve been fortunate to run other marathons, crossing the finish line on Boylston St. for the first time holds a special meaning for those of us who were here during the 2013 attacks. The fact that I’ll be able to run this race while raising funds for an amazing organization that speaks to my other passion - providing high-quality programming for children — makes it all the more special. As a parent and an educator, I know that kids learn critical life skills through the arts and sports, and this race provides me the opportunity to support equitable programming for all kids.””
