ARCKits
In 2020, in response to remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, ARCK launched a new #ARCKit initiative. We provided each student we taught with a custom bag that included all the supplies and materials they would need to complete our lessons and creative activities from home. This initiative resulted in an overwhelmingly positive response from classroom teachers, school administrators, students, and families alike (see what they said below!) This success led to the continuation of this initiative in the 2021-22 school year, despite the return to in-person classrooms. Since December 2020, ARCK has distributed #ARCKits to over 1,000 K-8th grade Boston Public Schools students.
The impact of an #ARCKit:
“AAAH - these bags were like birthday gifts! I made sure each student got theirs, including the remote learners, and from a teacher’s standpoint I appreciated having all these materials we don't have access to at school.”
- 1st Grade Teacher, Blackstone Elementary School
“The kits are essential. A lot of my students don’t have art supplies at home, so with the ARCKits they were able to participate. They even used the kits outside of ARCK time.”
- 1st Grade Teacher, Josiah Quincy Elementary School
“The supplies were so beautiful and really high quality. We saw engagement in ARCK increase once students had materials at home.”
- 7th Grade Teacher, Gardner Pilot Academy
“Thank you for the goodies that you sent to me and my classmates. Right about now, I’m using some of the art materials. There were some things that I never had and had been wanting it. So thank you and your team. I really like the things you gave us.”
- 8th Grade Student, Gardner Pilot Academy
